OUR PASTOR

Early Life
Pastor Rojas was baptized on November 22 and raised in the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). The son of a Lutheran pastor and missionary, he grew up deeply involved in the life of the Church. His father served as a Spanish-language missionary who planted and pastored several Spanish-speaking Lutheran congregations across the United States. Though raised in the faith, Pastor Rojas is a Lutheran not merely by heritage, but by conviction—fully persuaded by the truth of the Gospel confessed in the Lutheran Confessions.

Education

After graduating from Valencia Community College (VCC) and the University of Central Florida (UCF) with a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication, he enrolled at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana (CTSFW) in 2008. At the close of his first year, he participated in an exchange program at Westfield House in Cambridge, England. The following year, he studied abroad again through an exchange program at Seminário Concórdia in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
 

For his vicarage (pastoral internship), he served in two congregations: St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Whiting, Indiana, and The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Dr. Martin Luther on the south side of Chicago. After completing vicarage and his final year of seminary studies, he graduated from CTSFW in 2013, earning a Master of Divinity (M.Div.). He was then invited to remain at the seminary as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Pastoral Ministry and Missions, where he began graduate work toward a Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M.) in Systematic Theology.

Call & Ordination

That same year, Pastor Rojas entered Holy Matrimony with his wife and was soon blessed with a growing family. Months later, he received the Divine Call to serve as Pastor of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winter Garden, Florida. On July 27, he was ordained into the Office of the Holy Ministry. After completing his graduate studies, he was awarded the Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M.) degree on August 5, 2020.

Hobbies

In his time away from parish responsibilities, Pastor Rojas treasures time with his family above all else. He enjoys playing and watching soccer—especially when he can play with his sons—along with playing chess and reading nonfiction books. And he loves to watch documentaries, movies, and listen to music of all kinds.
